Parliament sittings could start earlier than usual, MP

The sittings of Parliament this autumn could begin earlier than in the autumn-winter sessions of the previous years, Democratic MP Sergiu Sarbu stated in the talk show “Emphasis on today” on TVR Moldova channel, IPN reports.

According to the MP, the sittings usually start in October, but this year they could begin earlier. The MPs have a lot of work to do also because there are many laws that were rejected by President Igor Dodon and these should be reviewed and put again to the vote in Parliament.

Socialist MP Grigore Novac said the Socialist parliamentary group will insist on reviewing the laws that were returned by the President to Parliament and on consulting them with the population. “We hope the objections of the Head of State will be taken into account,” he stated.

Unaffiliated MP Lilian Carp considers there will be no surprises in the current autumn-winter session of Parliament. “I hope the people will at least understand that absurd theater that we will witness in the future sittings of the legislature. We are in a pre-electoral year and many of the actions will be populist. It is important for those draft laws that will be adopted not to lead to the worsening of the situation,” he said.

The Parliament’s autumn-winter session started on September 4 . The MPs resumed work on the parliamentary commissions and groups and at the local level by meeting voters.
