The November 30 sitting of the legislative body began with applause and congratulations. Liberal MP Valeriu Munteanu congratulated the lawmakers on the occasion of Romania’s Day marked on December 1. Communist lawmaker Sergiu Stati replied that Moldova celebrates the World AIDS Day on December 1 and urged the MPs to fight this disease, Info-Prim Neo reports. Valeriu Munteanu congratulated the Romanians everywhere, saying he hopes that all the Romanians will be united within the great European families in the not too distant future. “Especially for the Communists and those who are like them, I stress that I spoke Romanian now,” he said and was applauded by his faction colleagues. Speaker Marian Lupu called on the MPs to work for the Republic of Moldova too. This time, the Communist MPs applauded him. Using the right to reply, Communist lawmaker Sergiu Stati said that the World AIDS Day is marked on December 1 and called upon the MPs, especially the Liberal ones, to fight this disease. Marian Lupu intervened, saying that he understands the appeal to combat the disease, but does not understand why the MPs were congratulated. After the exchange of replies, the plenary sitting continued in the ordinary way. The Liberal faction asked postponing the examination of the bills concerning the carabineers and the status of police officer for another sitting, arguing the Alliance did not reach a consensus.
