The December 2 sitting of Parliament was closed because a quorum was not present. The Socialist, Liberal-Democratic and Communist parliamentary groups left the assembly hall dissatisfied with the bills that were included in the agenda or with the fact that the Prime Minister will not come to the hearings on the rigging of bids for supplying food products to education institutions, IPN reports.
The Lib-Dems asked to put off the examination of the bills that were added to the agenda on the last 100 meters, without perceiving their essence. The group’s leader Tudor Deliu expressed his dissatisfaction with the fact that the decision to listen to the report on the concession of the Chisinau International Airport was taken in a hurry.
Chairman of the Party of Communists Vladimir Voronin said it is a tragedy that spoiled and unfit products were used to make food for children and this situation affected the whole society. “We leave this meeting and ask for a special sitting centering only on this issue, which will be attended by the senior state officials,” he stated.
Socialist MP Vlad Batrancea said the Socialist group is indignant at the fact that Prime Minister Pavel Filip will not come to the hearings as the subject of bid rigging is too important for being discussed with First Deputy Prime Minister Gheorghe Brega, who, according to them, does not have the necessary powers. “Such organization of the sitting is not normal. We leave in sign of protest,” he said.
As only 44 MPs remained in the assembly hall, Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu closed the sitting.
