The legislative body came together for a sitting in the afternoon of December 4. The sitting was announced less than two hours before its start. The MPs of the Party of Action and Solidary, the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” and the Democratic Party are absent from the meeting. The MPs of Pro Moldova also left the assembly hall later, IPN reports.
At the start of the sitting, the Parliament’s secretary general Adrian Albu said that damage to equipment in the assembly hall estimated at 50,000-60,000 lei was done in the December 3 sitting.
Speaker of Parliament Zinaida Grechanyi asked those in charge to initiate procedures and determine who caused the damage.
The agenda includes a number of bills to modify the composition of the standing commissions and of the Parliament’s delegations to international organizations, and also the appointment of a Deputy Speaker of Parliament.
Pro Moldova MP Andrian Candu said that as the pandemic situation is very difficult, the people die in hospitals, there are not enough drugs and beds, while Parliament is preoccupied with appointments, this legislature should definitely be dissolved. “Given that this parliamentary majority that was formed several days ago has another agenda that is not the people’s agenda, we, those from Pro Moldova, decided to withdraw and not to take part in the sitting,” stated Andrian Candu.
