Communist lawmakers blocked the Parliament’s rostrum, expressing thus their dissatisfaction with the fact that they weren’t allowed to pronounce on the situation in Gagauzia, where protesters seek the dismissal of Governor Mihail Formuzal, IPN reports.
Communist lawmaker Grigore Petrenko proposed creating a parliamentary working group that would travel to Comrat to examine the situation there, but their proposal was rejected.
The head of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group Valeriu Strelet said the Communist MPs make everything possible to cause chaos. “Two peaceful protests are taking place in Comrat town. The People’s Assembly is examining particular subjects, but Moldova’s Parliament cannot intervene for the simple reason that they want to know what those in Comrat are doing. The Communists look for reasons to cry on the microphones,” he stated.
Owing to the chaos in Parliament, the Speaker announced a break of 15 minutes.
