Parliament ratifies addendum on EU financing for fighting corruption

The legislative body ratified addendum No.1 to the financing agreement by which the EU provides €2.54 million for fighting corruption and money laundering and for promoting media pluralism and media freedom, IPN reports.

The EU earlier offered €30 million for the Framework Program in support of the current and new agreements between the European Union and the Republic of Moldova. After assessing the internal financing needs, the EU decided to allocate another €2.54 million for this program.

The supplement will be used to implement a joint project of the EU and the Council of Europe to fight corruption, money laundering and economic crime (€2m) and to promote media pluralism and media freedom (€0.54 million).
