Parliament passes bill allowing equipping five hospitals with Japanese grant

The MPs voted in two readings for the agreement with the Government of Japan on the implementation of the program to strengthen the health system. Based on this, diagnostic and treatment equipment will be purchased for five hospitals, IPN reports.

The grant provided by the Japanese side totals 1 billion yen, which is equal to about €8 million. The medical devices are intended for the Emergency Medicine Institute, the National Clinical Hospital “Timofei Moșneaga”, the Mother and Child Institute, the Oncological Institute and Saint Trinity Municipal Clinic Hospital. These institutions offer medical assistance to a larger number of persons, including Ukrainian refugees.

The given agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of Japan was signed in Chisinau on August 17, 2022.
