Moldova will enter into an interparliamentary cooperation agreement with the Polish Seim. The document will be signed during the Polish Premier Donald Tusk’ visit to Chisinau at the end of next month. The announcement was made on Friday in a news conference held jointly by the chairmen of the parliamentary commissions on foreign policy of the two countries, Igor Corman and Andrzey Halicki, who is in Chisinau on a visit, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Moldovan lawmakers and the Polish delegations discussed the steps taken by Moldova to come closer to the EU and the experience that the Polish MPs can share with their Moldovan counterparts. Igor Corman said Poland is a good partner of Moldova and has supported the official Chisinau in different areas. Andrzey Halicki stated that he wants this cooperation to help Moldova make progress on the path to European integration and develop the relations between the two states. “We have similar cultures and experienced the same tragic events. If we dig further, we can find common blood relations. We are ready to share out experience with you,” said the Polish official. He also said that Moldova follows the right way to development and this is mainly due to the Alliance for European Integration. According to Andrzey Halicki, this Alliance guarantees stability and success. Andrzey Halicki also said that he invited Igor Corman to take part in the conference of chairpersons of the foreign policy commissions of the EU member states that is set to take place in Warsaw in September. In the second half of this year, Poland will take over the presidency of the EU from Hungary. The official visit by the European delegation of lawmakers is not the first this month. Last week, MPs of the Romanian Senate’s commission for foreign policy visited Chisinau and agreed the priorities in the relations between the two Parliaments.
