Parliament must pass crisis program before election race starts: PSD leader

“It's necessary to urgently pass an anti-crisis program to protect the citizens and companies,” Social Democratic leader Dumitru Braghis told a news conference Tuesday. The program has repeatedly been proposed to the Parliament, but got no back up. “Any delay in realizing the measures we propose can make even worse the situation and can lead us to total wrecking the economy and the social sector,” the parliamentarian said. “We insist that the measures presented should be considered before the date of starting the electoral race. Or, in the conditions when the Parliament and the Government enter the race, which actually means postponing the enforcement of the anti-crisis measures for 4-5 months, the situation may degrade irreversibly, so that any government coming after the race should not be able to cope with it,” Dumitru Braghis added. His anti-crisis program envisages economic sectors: urgently launching a program to protect the citizens, launching safeguarding measures for companies from the real sector, preventing layoffs and creating new jobs, protecting the financial-banking system, etc. “I propose the political parties not having been at power to form a parliamentary majority to monitor the mechanism of implementing the measures from the program,” said the PSD leader. “If the Parliament fails to adopt a decision favorable for these issues, I propose to give the cabinet the right to undertake the necessary measures through ordinances,” Dumitru Braghis says.
