The lifting of the immunity of two MPs of the Shor Party, Denis Ulanov and Petru Jardan, will be examined by the legislative body on March 22. The plenary sitting of Parliament is set to start at 3pm, PPPDA MP Dinu Plîngău informed through a social networking site, IPN reports.
The Parliament’s press service hasn’t yet announced the holding of the sitting and its agenda.
The prosecutor general asked to lift the immunity of MPs Petru Jardan and Denis Ulanov on March 19. The announcement was made by Speaker Zinaida Grechanyi in the Parliament’s sitting. She said that she had a meeting with Prosecutor General Alexandr Stoianoglo.
The next day, the parliamentary commission for appointments and immunities decided by secret vote to propose Parliament to lift the immunity of MPs Denis Ulanov and Petru Jardan. The first is suspected of involvement in the bank fraud, while the second in the problematic conceding of the Chisinau International Airport. Both of the MPs said the accusations are actually part of an attack against them and the party of which they form part.
