Parliament denounces agreement on cooperation in labor market signed in Moscow

The legislative body denounced the agreement on cooperation in the field of labor protection within the CIS, which was signed in Moscow on December 9, 1994. A bill to this effect was given two readings, IPN reports.

Corina Ajder, secretary of state of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, said in Parliament that the agreement envisions rather technical cooperation. It covers the exchange of information on issues of common interest and cooperation in safety and health at work according to common CIS standards. It does not refer to the recognition of documents of study in Moldova and Russia, as it was rumored. The denouncing will not have a negative impact on the citizens.

The agenda of the sitting also includes bills to denounce several more agreements of cooperation within the Commonwealth of Independent States, in education, trade, standardization, metrology and certification, and small entrepreneurship.

The MPs of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists proposed excluding the bill to denounce the agreement on cooperation in the field of labor protection within the CIS and other similar bills from the agenda, but their proposals were rejected by the PAS majority group. In protest, the BCS MPs left the sitting.
