Parliament denounced eight agreements signed on CIS platform

The legislative body the previous session denounced eight agreements signed on the platform of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) According to the legislature, as Moldova follows the path of European integration, its participation in CIS commitments or projects becomes irrelevant, IPN reports.

Among the denounced agreements are the Convention on the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the agreement on the creation and running of the interstate television and radio company MIR, the agreement on interaction in the prevention and alleviation of the consequences of natural and technogenic disasters, which was signed in Minsk on January 22, 1993, the agreement on cooperation in labor protection, the agreement on the promotion of a coordinated policy on standardization, metrology and certification, and the agreement on the supporting and development of small entrepreneurship in the CIS member nations.

In its last sitting of the 2023 spring session, Parliament denounced the agreement on the formation of a common educational space in the CIS and the agreement on technical barriers in the area of free trade.

Another six draft laws to denounce agreements with the CIS were registered with Parliament and are to be examined by the MPs
