Parliament decisions on Domnica Manole and appointment of Boris Lupașcu unconstitutional

The Parliament decisions by which Domnica Manole’s appointment as a CC judge was annulled and Boris Lupașcu was named instead of her were declared unconstitutional, IPN reports.

The decision was adopted by the Constitutional Court on April 27 following a challenge filed by PAS MP Sergiu Litvinenco and PPPDA MP Dinu Plîngău.

On April 23, the MPs of the Party of Socialists and the For Moldova platform revoked the Parliament’s decision by which Domnica Manole was appointed CC judge and named Boris Lupașcu in her place. The same day, President Maia Sandu convened a meeting of the Supreme Security Council in which she requested the heads of the law enforcement agencies not to allow being engaged in anti-constitutional actions. She also requested the Prosecutor General’s Office to investigate the actions from the angle of usurpation of state power.
