Parliament convenes February 15

The Parliament’s Standing Bureau decided that the legislative body will hold the first sitting of the spring-summer session on February 15. The agenda includes a number of bills, among which the bill by which the post of First Deputy Speaker is removed, Info-Prim Neo reports. After the meeting of the Standing Bureau, Head of Parliament Marian Lupu said he proposed taking a pause of several days before convening Parliament, but the Liberal-Democrats and the Communists voted in favor of holding the first sitting tomorrow. The agenda also includes the report of the parliamentary commission of inquiry into the December 23 tragic hunting incident in the Domneasca Forest. Marian Lupu told the press that the Democrats and Liberals suggested that the MPs tomorrow should consider creating a commission of inquiry into the situation at Banca de Economii, but the Lib-Dems and the Communists didn’t accept this proposal. Tomorrow it will also become known who will form the new parliamentary majority following the withdrawal of the PLDM from the AEI agreement.
