The legislative body allowed to criminally investigate the member of the Audit Office Gheorghe Trocin in connection with his involvement in a road accident that resulted in the death of a child. The request was made by Prosecutor General Corneliu Gurin, IPN reports.
Under the law, the members of the Audit Office enjoy immunity while they hold office. They can be investigated, detained and arrested only at the request of the prosecutor general, with the Parliament’s consent.
