The legislative body Thursday confirmed the ECHR judge Mihai Poalelungi as president of the Supreme Court of Justice for a four-year term by a majority of votes, Info-Prim Neo reports. The vote of confidence was given after the judge was questioned by the parliamentary groups. “The quality of our legal system leaves much to be desired. I will make everything possible and I think I will manage to contribute to building veritable justice in Moldova,” Poalelungi told the press after he was confirmed to post. Mihai Poalelungi was chosen for the position of Supreme Court of Justice president by the Supreme Council of Magistrates on February 7. The post had been vacant for almost a year. Judge Ion Muruianu held the post on an interim basis.
