Parliament confirmed members of TRM Supervisory Board
The Parliament assigned the 9 members of the Supervisory Board of the “Teleradio-Moldova” Company (TRM), on Thursday, December 28.
According to the Audiovisual Code, 3 members have been appointed for a 2-year period – Alexandru Burean, Viorel Cibotaru and Veaceslav Ionita; other 3 members for 3 years – Igor Munteanu, Victoria Mustata and Ludmila Barbus; and 3 members for a 4-year period – Anatol Dubrovschi, Boris Focsa and Mariana Slapac. The majority of the members were supported by the votes of communist, Christian democrat and democrat MPs, some of them – also by independent deputies. The lowest number of votes was given to Anatol Dubrovschi (65), and the highest to Veaceslav Ionita (73).
“Moldova Noastra” Alliance hasn’t participated in the voting. The MP Anatol Onceanu accused the factions of the fact that the voting as well as the appointment of the members of the Coordinating Council of Audiovisual (CCA), is an arrangement within the red-orange coalition, and that the voting is just a “show”.
40 candidates submitted their files for the office of member of the Supoervisory Board. 19 of them were selected by the CCA and forwarded to the specialized parliamentary committee. The committee selected 9 persons.
Among the issues reserved for the competence of the Supervisory Board is the confirmation of appointment of the TRM chairman and directors of national radio and TV stations, approval of the Company’s Statute and Terms of Reference etc.
