The legislative body passed in two readings a bill that bans the involvement of foreigners in election campaigns. The initiative was put forward by the Liberal-Democratic MPs, IPN reports.
The bill prohibits the organization of concerts and other cultural-artistic events involving foreign singers by election runners. The violation of these provisions leads to the exclusion of contenders from the electoral race.
The bill was adopted by the votes of the Democratic, Communist and Liberal MPs. The Liberals said the bill is welcome, while the Socialists criticized it, saying it was introduced in the agenda as a matter of urgency and didn’t go through all the required procedures.
