Parliament appoints deputy prosecutors general
Parliament appointed on Thursday, March 1, chief deputy and two deputy prosecutors general.
Vasile Pascari, the incumbent Prosecutor of Chisinau, has been named chief deputy prosecutor general. Valeriu Botnari, who is currently serving as Prosecutor of Balti Municipality, and the incumbent head of the Judicial Division of the Prosecutor’s Office Igor Serbinov have been appointed to the office of deputy prosecutor general.
The office of chief deputy prosecutor general had been held by Valeriu Gurbulea before he was promoted to Prosecutor General on February 8, 2007.
The positions of deputy prosecutor general became vacant after Alexandr Stoianoglo’s and Nicolae Oprea’s terms of office had expired.
