The legislative body accepted the resignation tendered by PAS MP Mihai Popșoi from the position of deputy speaker of Parliament after being appointed minister of foreign affairs. In the same sitting, PAS MP Doina German, chairwoman of the commission for foreign policy and European integration, was appointed deputy speaker of Parliament, IPN reports.
Attending the plenary sitting, Mihai Popșoi said that today the country sees unprecedented international development and openness in the past over 30 years of Independence. “Today we have a foreign policy that we can be proud of and I can only hope that, together with you, we will continue to promote an active foreign policy in the public interest,” said the new minister of foreign affairs.
For her part, Doina German said she will continue to work alongside the team, with the same strong commitment.
Doina German also took over from Mihai Popșoi also the post of head of the parliamentary group of the Party of Action and Solidarity.
