“Parlamentul 90” criticizes personnel policy pursued by AEI members

The Association “Parlamentul 90” (“Parliament 90”) does not agree with the personnel policy promoted by some of the parties that form part of the Alliance for European Integration (AEI). According to the association's presidium, Prime Minister Vlad Filat was already forced to accept persons who cooperated with the former Communist government, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a statement from the organization. The presidium of “Parlamentul 90” is concerned about the preservation of old executive employees in the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Justice, who contributed directly to the usurpation of the state power by Vladimir Voronin (Moldova's former President – e.n.) and who were involved in cases of murder, torture, intimidation, fabrication of evidence and illegal prosecution. “The possible announced candidate for the post of Prosecutor General of Moldova is close to the most corrupt figures of the Voronin clan. It seems as if the groups affiliated to the former Communist power want to buy this post in order to hinder the disclosure of all the crimes committed under Communist rule,” the statement says. The association warns the presidents of the parties that form part of the AEI that the people will stop believing in the declared democratic changes if persons with dubious relations with groups connected to the former Communist power are named to high-ranking posts. “We call on the members of the Moldovan Parliament not to vote in favor of discredited persons and to ensure an authentic political change in our country,” the presidium of “Parlamentul 90” says.
