Members of the public association “Parlamentul-90” call on the citizens of all ages, regardless of ethnicity, to be active and vote in the November 13 elections so as to take a step towards a real change. By a call made in a news conference at IPN, the signatories urged the voters to support Maia Sandu who, according to them, is an honest, upright and professional person who can start the change by contributing to rooting out corruption and eliminating the corrupt politicians from power.
“The association “Parlamentul-90” repeatedly warned the political class about the shortcomings of the government, including corruption and blackmailing, party control over state institutions, discrediting of democratic system, constitutional principle of separation of powers in the state, implementation of the legislation selectively or by order, theft of the US$1 billion, criminalization of political life, manipulation in election campaigns,” the association’s secretary Nicolae Misail said, reading a statement by “Parlamentul-90”.
The signatories say the country today was brought to a new historical crossroads, while the corrupt government, in concert with the profiteers of Moscow, laid a new trap. According to the members of Moldova’s first Parliament, voting Igor Dodon President means strengthening of the corrupt system. “Voting for Dodon on November 13 means giving him the future of our children to the new empire that is more aggressive than the Soviet one. It means burning by ourselves the Declaration of Independence without hope of recovery,” reads the statement.
This also says that only together with Maia Sandu as President, the Republic of Moldova will really resume the European course that is simulated by the current government. This will contribute to improving the welfare of the population, protection of human rights, promotion of democratic principles in state and social activity, creating conditions for a better future.
Alexandru Arseni, a member of the association’s Administration Board, said the created situation is disastrous. A large part of the students are deprived of the right to vote as the current administration made everything possible to hinder the students from voting at the institutions where they study. He called on the young people and, in general, all the voters to go and vote for Maia Sandu.
Association member Vasile Zgardan said the people do not want a deceitful President as Maia Sandu’s opponent would be. According to him, Igor Dodon is an impostor who disseminates lies in his campaign.
The signatories called upon the people not to believe those who want to sell their peace for dirty millions, to go and vote and take a step towards changes so as to gain back the presidential institution.
