Parking lot may be set up in Rome for Moldovan minibuses

Moldova’s Embassy in Rome made an approach to the local Italian authorities, asking that they provide a place for parking the Moldovan minibuses that carry parcels and people. The move was made after a number of Moldovan drivers were fined for illegal parking. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, the head of the Office for Relations with the Diaspora Victor Lutenko said that 10 to 20 minibuses from Moldova arrive in Rome daily. The drivers are fined for parking the vehicles in unauthorized places when they load and unload the parcels. “It would be preferable to set up a parking lot for the purpose, which would be authorized by the local authorities. Everybody will feel more comfortable. It may contain elementary amenities such as coffee and an area for discussions,” said Victor Lutenko. He also said that the Moldovan central authorities will become involved, if need be, so as to solve this problem.
