When the works to repair Stefan cel Mare Blvd in Chisinau are completed, the drivers will be unable to park cars along the street. The authorities decided to set up parking spaces towards Buiucani district only up to Armeneasca St. There will be no parking places on the section between the streets Armeneasca and S. Lazo. After Lazo St, there will be parking places, except for several portions.
Acting head of the Transport Division Oleg Poiata has told IPN that delimiting poles to prevent drivers from mounting the sidewalk will be set up on the road sections where parking places will not exist. The goal is to offer more space to pedestrians and bicyclists.
After the intersection with S. Lazo St, the drivers will be able to park on Stefan cel Mare Blvd except for the area near the Embassy of Hungary, on a section between the streets Petru Movila and Toma Ciorba and Toma Ciorba and Mihai Viteazu.
Oleg Poiata said the works on the boulevard are close to an end and are expected to be finished by September. The new poles are to be connected, the area is to be greened and the street is to be marked.
The boulevard is repaired within the project to rehabilitate and modernize six main streets in the central part of Chisinau. The total value of the project is of €22 million.
