“Parinti Solidari” ask for surveillance cameras in kindergartens

Representatives of the community “Parinti Solidari” (“Solidary Parents”) demand to amend the legislation of the Republic of Moldova so that all the state kindergartens are equipped with video surveillance cameras. The request was made in connection with the case in Israel, when the child of a Moldovan couple died after being abused by a nanny , IPN reports.

“Recently, we were witness to a terrible tragedy at a kindergarten in Israel, where a nanny killed with cruelty the child of a Moldovan couple. Any child could have been in the case of Yasmin. In the Republic of Moldova, as in Israel, there are no surveillance cameras in state kindergartens and some of the children are subject to physical and emotional abuse, as the parents often relate,” said representatives of the community “Parinti Solidari”, who staged a demonstration in the central square of Chisinau on June 15.

The participants observed a moment’s silence in memory of the child and released black balloons into the sky. The representatives of the community encouraged the parents, teachers, educators and the authorities to use positive education techniques safe for children.

At the end of the event, they filed a petition to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, by which they signaled a number of cases of negligence, abuse and violence and presented a number of demands, including to install video cameras in preschool education institutions.
