Parents will be able to check their children's grades on-line
Parents will be able to check their children's grades on-line, by accessing an electronic registry. Presently, this feature is available at one lyceum in Chisinau, and 5 others are still implementing the software.
Chisinau's Education Division head Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb told Info-Prim Neo that the implementation of the electronic registry implies certain expenses, including for the furnishing of each classroom with a computer, so that each teacher can immediately upload the grades into the registry, as opposed to having to the methodological office and input the grades with the help of an operator.
At this point the Municipality can only undertake the project under subsidies from the pupils' parents, only in institutions where such requests exist, yet it is not excluded that discussions to extend it throughout the entire Municipality may take place in the future.
The software generates a password for each parent, which grants them real-time access to their child's grades. Meanwhile, the grades are also recorded in the traditional registry. However, once the software goes mainstream, the use paper registries may be discontinued.
Currently, only the “Iulia Hasdeu” Theoretic Lyceum, from Chisinau, has an electronic registry. Institution's headmistress Eleonora Goncear told Info-Prim Neo that the institution was selected by a Romanian company, which covered the costsof installing the software, buying computers, and connecting them to the internet.
