Parents of trafficked victims call most often hotlines of NGOs dealing with trafficking

From February 2006 to December 2008, the hotline against trafficking in human beings, launched by an NGO called Vzoimodeystvie from Tiraspol has been dialed by over 3,000 people, reads a communique of the NGO, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. Most of the callers ask for information related to jobs abroad, tourism, and emigration. People aged from 40 to 49 call most often. As a rule they are parents of victims of trafficking in humans. Since 2006, Vzoimodeystvie registered 140 cases of trafficking. The NGO was founded in 2002 to prevent breeches of human rights. Its hotline was set up with the support of the International Organization for Migration.
