The parents of a 16-year-old boy are forced by court decision to pay over MDL 16,000 in respect of pecuniary damage and fine for some acts of hooliganism that were committed by their son. According to the General Prosecutor’s Office, on November 19, 2006, on the rail line Falesti-Catranac, the youngster deteriorated the signalling device no.5 and some other equipment, this way causing losses worth MDL 9,000 to Moldova Railway Company. On March 4, 2007 on the same railroad segment, the minor has again deteriorated the equipment of the transformers from the same device. This time, he got out of use the transformer of the longitudinal electrical alimentation, by breaking four ceramic isolators of another transformer. Because of that, the stop light was always red and blocked the circulation of the trains for a long period. The minor was found guilty and was fined MLD 3200 plus having to pay for the damage he caused to the Moldova Railway. Because the minor didn’t reach full legal age, the money will be paid by his parents.
