The parents in Chisinau as of April 1 can register their children at school through the online platform www.escoala.chisinau.md. More than 30 applications were submitted this way during the morning hours, acting mayor Ruslan Codreanu announced in the April 1 meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, IPN reports.

According to the official, the platform was designed during six months and cost the municipal budget 89,000 lei.

Viorica Negrei, deputy head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport of Chisinau, told IPN earlier that the platform contains all the education institutions that have the first grade. The parents will no longer have to go to school to submit the required documents. They could do it online by attaching the scanned documents.

The school district of the applicant will be taken into account as a priority. Enrolment at an education institution outside the district will be possible as part of the second stage, in August, depending on the places that will remain unfilled. The first stage ends in June, when the results will be totaled.

Viorica Negrei said the new platform will ensure greater transparency in the process of registering children at school.
