Parents’ divorce endangers child’s life

The life of a little girl was in danger after the parents divorced and the mother went abroad to work. The girl was left in the care of foreign persons. In a news conference, the parents of the girl’s father said the child was being looked after by a local family, where she was being beaten, Info-Prim Neo reports. The girl’s grandmother Olga Tepordei from Cimislia district related that when the girl was only six months, her mother went to work in Italy, leaving her in the care of her father and grandparents. In three years, she returned and took the child from the father against his will. Supported by the local guardianship authorities, the woman created impediments, hindering the father from seeing his daughter. Olga Tepordei also said that the woman went back after a period and left the girl in the care of a family from Pervomaiskoe village of Hancesti district, paying them a monthly recompense. After a year and a half of attempts, the girl’s father and grandparents managed to see her and take her home. Serafima Sarandei, lawyer for the Tepordei family, said the girl was covered in bruises and cried every time she heard about the Olaru family. “The girl said she was beaten by the persons who looked after her and by her mother. They stuck her mouth with plaster so that she could not cry. When they left home, they chained the girl’s hands,” said the lawyer. Now the girl lives with her father. Children’s ombudswoman Tamara Plamadeala said she made approaches to the Hancesti District Police Commissariat, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Government, and the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family, asking them to investigate the case. She also said she will file a civil lawsuit and claim damages for the girl’s father from the bodies that did not take steps.
