An activity committee, which will represent all the parents’ associations in the education institutions in Chisinau, could be set up in the near future. A decision in this respect was taken by the 15 representatives of associations assembled at Education, Youth and Sports Division (EYSD), Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the EYSD head Tatiana Nagnibeda, this activity committee is necessary as the committees of parents are operating in each kindergarten on the basis of their own statuses. For that reason, in each school there are collected different sums of money to support children, to solve problems that the institutions confront. The quoted source said that the maintenance of schools and kindergartens without the parents’ support is difficult, but both the fundraising and the money spending must be a voluntary and transparent process. The money has to be collected through bank transfers on the Association’s account, and then it will be distributed, announcing parents about every transaction. As Tatiana Nagnibeda states, the practice of forming different funds in education institutions must be eradicated. Also, a ceiling of the sums collected from the parents will be set up. At the moment, an educator in the kindergarten has a salary of 460 lei per month, while a children’s nurse – 352 lei. In the context, it was debated on an eventual model-status for all over 200 parents’ associations existing in Chisinau. Their representatives have decided to come together on December 14 to create the activity committee.
