Parents against vaccination of children

A number of parents came to a news conference to say that the administration of different types of vaccines produced negative effects on their children’s health. Jurist Elena Bitca, who supports them, said a parents committee will be set up to formulate requests for the authorities to review the laws that make vaccination obligatory, Info-Prim Neo reports. The father of a five-year-old girl said that after three doses of vaccine were administered to his daughter, without preliminary examinations, the child fell sick. Afterward, she was diagnosed with mental retardation. The mother of two children related that her 10-month-old daughter was healthy, but now she is an invalid of the first disability degree. She cannot walk and they need US$48,000 for rehabilitation at a hospital in Israel. Another mother said a ganglion appeared on her child’s body after immunization and she received treatment during three months. The woman is afraid to administer other vaccines to her child, but she knows that the child will not be accepted to kindergarten. Elena Bitca said the parents faced negative post-vaccination effects and do not trust the immunization. Over the next two weeks, the parents committee will formulate a request for amending the law and submit it to Parliament. “If these parents aren’t heard, we will go to the Ministry of Health together with these children,” said the jurist. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Laura Turcan, head of the Epidemiology of Diseases Prevented by Vaccination Division, said there are yet cases when the children react to vaccines. “We have post-vaccination reactions every year, but they are within the admissible limits. They are written in the instructions to the vaccine,” she stated. Earlier, the Constitutional Court recorded a parity of votes when examining a challenge filed by ombudsman Anatolie Munteanu, who questioned the constitutionality of a legal provision saying that only the vaccinated children can be admitted to education and recreational institutions. Attending the news conference, children’s ombudswoman Tamara Plamadeala considers the Constitutional Court’s decision is not objective and believes that the article that makes vaccination obligatory is a flagrant violation of children’s rights.
