Alexandru Paraschiv was a real surprise at the “Golden Glove” tournament in Serbia. The boxer has achieved 3 victories, manging to defeat in the final the Cuban Yoangel Moya, the 63 kg weight category’s favourite, IPN reports.
Andrei Vreme, a 75 kg boxer from Chisinau, also won, emerging victorious over Bulgaria’s Peter Draganov, Algeria’s Tabi Sofiane and Serbia’s Dejan Dasic.
Valeri Sîrbu from Comrat has also made it to the final. He defeated the Ukrainian Dmytro Rybalko and the Serbian Nikola Jovanovic, but lost to the Dutchman Max van der Pas in the final.
Dmitri Galagoț earned a place on the the podium, as well, winning the bronze medal in the 69 kg weight category. He defeated the Dutchman James Delano, however in the semi-finals he was defeated by the Serbian Vladimir Gubas.
The 62nd edition of the "Golden Glove" tournament brought together athletes from 16 countries.
