A number of 2,170 cases of pandemic influenza have been confirmed in Moldova so far. The new type of flu caused 13 deaths, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the National Scientific Practical Center of Preventive Medicine, 4,745 blood samples have been sent to the National Laboratory by December 9 in the morning. 173 samples are still being tested. The A(H1N1) flu virus was detected in 2,170 samples. In 13 cases, the persons died. The presence of the virus in 2,402 cases was not confirmed. The pandemic flu situation during the last days has been relatively stable. The pandemic flu alert coordination committee had held three meetings last week. It discussed the epidemiological situation and measures that must be taken in the medical institutions to prevent the spread of the virus. The epidemiological situation was also analyzed by the national extraordinary antiepidemic commission.
