The Palanca – Maiaki border crossing point will be reopened on May 15. In a press release, quoted by IPN, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine says the works to build the road that connects the border crossing points Palanca in Moldova and Maiaki in Ukraine have been completed.

The Palanca – Maiaki-Udobnoe border crossing point was closed in October 2015 at the request of the Ukrainian authorities that intended to repair the bridge. The works to reconstruct the bridge situation on the Odessa-Reni road near Palanca were launched towards the end of 2016.

The flow of passengers was redirected to the border crossing point Udobnoe, while trucks could cross the border through the post Tudora-Starokazacie.
