Moldova will be represented by two pairs of dancers at the European Youth Championship Standard: Alexandru Bitca-Karyna Neginska and Ion Samboteanu-Lina Vartic. The championship will take place in Chisinau, on April 28, and will gather dancers from 33 countries, Info-Prim Neo reports. Petru Gozun, chairman of the Dancesport Federation and head of Codreanca Club, told the press on Wednseday, April 25, that Alina Milinceanu, Alenxandru Barca’s previous partner, moved to France. She was replaced by Ukrainian Karyna Neginska who lives and studies in Moldova. Petru Gozin said that dancers from both pairs are European champions and the chances to win something at the championship are high. The main competition will come from pairs representing Italy, Lithuania and Russia. Dancers will compete in the standard program, dancing Slow Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Slow Fox and Quick Step. The participating countries are: Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Canada, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germania, Israel, Italia, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Great Britain, Montenegro, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweded, Ukraine, Hungary and Moldova. The jury members come from 9 countries. Separately, on April 28 and 29, Chisinau will host the International Dancesport Competition WDSF World Open Standard&Latin “Codreanca 2012”. The contest will have 5 age categories: Juveniles I and II, Juniors I and II and Youth. Both competitions will take place at the Palace of the Republic, beginning at 10 AM. The organizers are the Moldovan Dancesport Federation and Codreanca Dancesport Club.
