76 paintings from the heritage of the Art National Museum of Moldova and from the funds of the National Archive belonging to Alexandru Plamadeala are exhibited at the Museum. The expo was inaugurated on Wednesday on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the artist's birth. The deputy director of the Art Museum, Svetlana Pociumban, has told Info-Prim Neo the museum has not staged a vast expo with the painter's works for years. “We have tried to present the works by Alexandru Plamadeala in all his complexity and integrity,” Pociumban added. According to her, “it's mistaken to speak of Plamadeala only in his capacity of a sculptor, because in fact he was a very talented painter and graphic painter.” Three of his works are presented for the first time to the public. The sculptures “The Rock”, “Body of woman” and the nude “The Woman with the Shell” have been restored by Alexandru Ivanov. According to him, the works were damaged during WWII. Alexandru Ivanov says they are the most valuable works he had to restore and he enjoyed to do so very much. The exhibition of works created from 1912 to 1939 got together scores right on the first day. Alexandru Plamadeala's creations will be exhibited till November 16.
