PAD: Moldova conceded to Tiraspol

The Democratic Action Party (PAD) issued a press statement, saying the Republic of Moldova made unprecedented concessions in the Transnistrian conflict settlement process and in the direct diplomatic relations with Russia. The party condemns the ‘recognition of Transnistria’ as a participant with equal rights in the negotiation process, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We consider this gesture as a serious precedent that will fuel the secessionist pretensions of the unrecognized Transnistrian authorities and will be used as negotiation basis for putting down a plan on Moldova’s federalization,” reads the statement. According to the PAD, the Moldovan authorities unconditionally and compliantly cooperate with Russia and this cooperation confirms that the aggressive and impudent model of negotiations that Dmitry Rogozin (Deputy Prime Minister named special representative of the President of Russia for Transnistria – e.n.) applied in Chisinau is efficient for the Russian side and will be further used. The PAD calls on the Moldovan authorities to react promptly and toughly to Dmitry Rogozin’s statements concerning Moldova’s internal policy and the process of settling the Transnistrian conflict, and to demand replacing Rogozin, who also heads the intergovernmental economic cooperation commission. The participants in the 5+2 talks adopted a document that lays down the principles and procedures for the conduct of the negotiations in Vienna on April 17-18.
