Package of laws on integrity adopted in final reading

The three laws from the so-called integrity package, concerning the reformation of the National Integrity Commission and declaration of property, were passed by a majority of votes of MP in the final reading, IPN reports.

The laws are aimed at ensuring the independence of the National Integrity Commission, which is to be reorganized into the National Integrity Center. This will have 30 integrity inspectors. The given laws include the Law on the Declaration of Property and Personal Interests, which envisions the submission of relevant statements online.

Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu, in the context of the EU ambassadors’ campaign “Red for corruption”, suggested voting on the package of laws with red cards on which it was written “Moldova against corruption”.

The adoption of this package of laws is stipulated in the justice sector reform. This was adopted in the first reading on February 27 this year.
