Paciu case to be discussed by Health Ministry Board
The case of Sorin Paciu will be discussed by the Board of the Health Ministry after January 18, when Minister Andrei Usatyi returns from a trip to Japan, Deputy Minister of Health Gheorghe Turcanu said in an interview for Radio Free Europe, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The deputy minister also said that he found out about this case on the day Sorin Paciu was wounded. He was informed that the state of the patient was very serious and he was admitted to the reanimatology section. The man underwent intensive care because it was suspected that he had intra-abdominal hemorrhage and injury to the internal organs. Despite the efforts made, the patient died on December 25.
According to Gheorghe Turcanu, it is the institution to which the patient is admitted that is responsible for informing the law enforcement bodies, not the Health Ministry. “I didn’t know who took part in the hunting. If I had known that personalities were involved, I would have informed the Government. We are permanently called by MPs, ministers and other officials and asked to provide medical assistance. They all have relatives and acquaintances. We presented additional information to the Cabinet today,” he stated.
For the accidental shooting of Sorin Paciu during hunting, the prosecutors investigate the former vice president of the Chisinau Court of Appeals Gheorghe Cretu.
