PACE to discuss humanitarian consequences of Ukraine war and reported cases of political prisoners in Russia

The humanitarian consequences of the war in Ukraine and the reported cases of political prisoners in Russia will be discussed at the summer session to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) that involves a parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Moldova. There will also be held a high-level panel discussion that will be followed by an interactive debate entitled “Support for democratic security in Europe”. The MPs will discuss such issues as the management of online communication, prevention and combating of anti-Semitism in Europe and vaccination that helps prevent diseases, IPN reports, with reference to the Parliament’s press service.

Moldova’s delegation consists of the head of the national delegation to PACE, the deputy head of the commission on foreign policy and European integration Ion Groza and Deputy Speakers Mihail Popșoi and Vlad Batrîncea.

In the session, speeches will be given by the President of Greece Katerina Sakellaropoulou and the King of the Netherlands Willem-Alexander.

The session is taking place in Strasbourg on June 20-24.
