The people go abroad to work in a large number, while those who remained in the country are concerned because they cannot pay for gas, electricity, food and medicines. The citizens are dissatisfied with the closing of schools, universities, factors as the people remain without a job. Such conclusions were reached by the Building Europe at Home Party (PACE) following public consultations held with people, experts and opposition parties. In this connection, the party presented a county plan designed to reduce poverty and the social disaster.
“We, the political party PACE, come with a well-analyzed and structured political country plan with which we earlier competed in the election campaign and which is the only functional one as the citizens of the Republic of Moldova deserve a present and a future. In the current conditions, there is no present and future in the Republic of Moldova and the people have to massively leave the country,” Tatiana Bordeianu, PACE vice president in charge of foreign relations and integration into the EU, stated in a news conference hosted by IPN.
Denis Roșca, the party’s first vice president, said there is no predictability. The country’s citizens do not know the direction followed by Moldova and how the country will look like at the end of the tenure of the current government. The country plan proposed by PACE has five components: country brand, healthcare, society, independence and functionality.
“The country plan has five priorities that will prevent the Republic of Moldova from being the poorest country in Europe if they are achieved in parallel. We have everything we need to develop. Only confidence that the Republic of Moldova can become a developed state is needed,” stated Denis Roșca.
According to him, education should be one of the key policies of the state. When the state offers the young people opportunities to develop their businesses and offers the guarantee that the finished goods will be sold, the population will remain in the country. PACE also pleads for developing culture, suggesting that each young person should be offered a card with 1,000 lei on it, which could be used at different cultural events. Tourism is also a priority and the party proposes promoting Orthodox, ethnic, dental, gastronomic and sports tourism.
Denis Roșca noted that the Republic of Moldova should fulfill all the commitments undertaken by the Association Agreement with the EU and should become an EU member state. The integration into NATO is also high on the party’s list of priorities. The countries that are NATO members are more attractive investment destinations. The people who own capital consider their assets are safer when the country is a NATO member. Among other areas covered by the PACE plan are the energy, food and technological independence, modification of the law on investment funds, development of pension funds and the reform of the central public administration.
