PACE President to visit Moldova

The President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Jean-Claude Mignon will pay an official visit to Moldova on April 2-5, Info-Prim Neo has learned from the Parliament’s press service. Jean-Claude Mignon will have a bilateral meeting with Head of Parliament Marian Lupu. Afterward, the two officials will make statements for the press. While in Chisinau, the PACE President will also meet with Moldova’s President Nicolae Timofti, Prime Minister Vlad Filat, Foreign Minister Iurie Leanca and Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Eugen Karpov. The program of the visit includes meetings with members of the delegation of the Moldovan Parliament to the PACE, the head of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group Valeriu Strelet, the head of the Liberal faction Ion Hadarca, the Democratic parliamentary group, the leader of the Communist Party Vladimir Voronin and the chairman of the parliamentary commission on national security, defense and public order Alexandru Stoianoglo. Jean-Claude Mignon will also have a meeting with the French Ambassador to Moldova Gérard Guillonneau. On April 4, the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe will go to Tiraspol.
