PACE delegation to pay pre-electoral visit to Moldova tomorrow

A delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), led by Jean-Claude Mignong of the Group of the European People’s Party at the Council of Europe (EPP/CD), will make a pre-electoral visit to Moldova on November 5 and 6. The group will assess the conduct of the election campaign and the political climate before the November 30 parliamentary elections, IPN reports.

While in Chisinau, the PACE delegation will meet with the President, the Prime Minister, the Head of Parliament, leaders of political parties running in the elections, the chairman of the Central Election Commission, and with representatives of the international community, NGOs and the mass media.

The delegation consists of Jean-Claude Mignon (France, EPP/CD), Stefan Schennach (Austria, the Socialist Group, SOC), Reha Denemeç (Turkey, the European Conservatives Group, EC), Ionut-Marian Stroe (Romania, the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe, ALDE), Nazmi Gür (Turkey, the Unified European Left Group, UEL), and co-rapporteurs for the monitoring of Moldova Lise Christoffersen (Norway, SOC) and Piotr Wach (Poland, EPP/CD).

A delegation formed of 32 PACE members will oversee the voting process in Moldova on the election day.
