The Parliamentary Assembly of OSCE, which will take place on July 3-7, in Brussels, will adopt a resolution referring to Moldova and the situation regarding the Transnistrian conflict. About this announced on Tuesday, June 13, Kimmo Kiljunen, the head of the AP OSCE team to the Republic of Moldova, who is paying a visit to Chisinau. Mr. Kiljunen declared after the meeting with the speaker of the Parliament, Marian Lupu that he is visiting the Republic of Moldova for studying the evolutions of the Transnsitrian conflict in order to make a base for the discussions in Brussels. Mr. Kiljunen said as well that he has a special mission linked to resuming the negotiation process on conflict settlement in “5+2” format. “We all know that the situation is not one the best”, the official said, mentioning that he wants to create a new base for the dialogue between the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova and the Supreme Soviet of Tiraspol. Previously, such a dialogue was organized by OSCE and if continued, it could contribute at a great extant to resuming the talks, the quoted source stated. According to Kiljunen, it is important that the territorial integrity of Moldova is respected. Another way than a peaceful settlement of the conflict must not be chosen. As well he mentioned that Transnistria should benefit of a special statute, within a unitary state. The OSCE officially re-launched the idea of changing the statute and creating an international peace-keeping mission. On Tuesday, Kimmo Kiljunen will meet the representatives of the Parliamentary Commissions and the leaders of the Parliamentary factions. On Wednesday the OSCE official will leave for Transnistria and in the evening will have a press conference at Chisinau International Airport.
