The Agency of Medicines and Medical Equipment has ordered the immediate removal of the ointment branded as “Oxolina” from drugstores across the country, citing quality concerns, IPN reports.
Oxolina is an over-the counter ointment used to prevent and treat viral diseases including flu. It was marketed by UniversalFarm SRL as a 0.25% preparation coming in 10-gram tubes, under the manufacturing series no. 209.
The Medicines Agency said in a press release all shipments of the ointment shall be ceased nationwide and the remaining stocks shall be removed and disposed of.
