Owners of houses threatened by landslides in Baurci to receive state aid

The Government will consider the possibility of allocating financial assistance to residents of Baurci village, where a number houses in threatened by landslides, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué of the Government’s press service, Prime Minister Iurie Leanca, who was on a working visit to Ciadar Lunga district, ascertained that the houses face demolition risks and promised to assess the situation and to take a relevant decision within two weeks.

The Premier, being accompanied by the Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Pirkka Tapiola, Bashkan of Gagauzia Mihail Formuzal and representatives of the local public authorities, met with inhabitants of the village at the local school, which is attended by about 500 children. The discussions centered on such issues as education, infrastructure, building of roads, pensions and salaries, creation of more jobs in Moldova.

Iurie Leanca said the executive, together with the European partners, are designing a number of infrastructure-related projects intended to improve the people’s lives, including in southern Moldova.
