Owner of inspected gas stations intends to seek compensations

Tirex Petrol, which owns the filling stations inspected by the police on April 3, will take steps to protect its image and business and will ask for compensations for the caused damage, the company says in a communiqué.

According to the company’s administration, the inspections with the confiscation of documents and the leaking of information to the press show that these actions were aimed not at enforcing the law, but at damaging the company’s image before the clients and the public. Tirex Petrol considers that the given actions represent an attempt to attack the businesses, which undermines the foreign investors’ confidence that the law and patrimonial rights are respected in Moldova.

Tirex Petrol has worked in Moldova for 12 years. The company forms part of the German group Marquard & Bahls AG and owns five oil storehouses and 104 gas stations in Moldova.
