Overnight stormy wind causes power outages in parts of Moldova
On Saturday morning, at least 55 settlements in different parts of the country had no electricity after strong wind affected power lines overnight.
This will add to the workload of the repair crews, who have been already engaged in restoring electricity to villages that were affected by stormy weather earlier.
Dorina Sochirca, spokesperson for the Emergencies Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that most of the villages experiencing power outages are located in the district of Calarasi. Other affected areas include Rezina, Soroca, Orhei and Hincesti.
According to the Emergencies Service, no other significant damages have been reported.
It was predicted that strong wind will continue to blow on Saturday, with gusts reaching speeds of 24-27 meters per second.
