Over one thousand consumers with overdue heating bills have been warned or fined
As many as 1,304 Chisinau consumers have been either warned or fined in connection with the failure to settle their debts for heat, with some 5,000 more similar cases being examined, Info-Prim Neo learned from a press release published today by the heat and hot water utility Termocom.
Individuals with debts face penalties of 200 to 1,000 lei in fines or 30 hours of community service, and entities face fines of 2,000 to 6,000 or up to 60 hours of community service.
A 50% discount on the fine is in effect if the offender pays it within 72 hours. The payment will be enforced if the fine is not paid in a 10 days' term.
Termocom reminds consumers that only full and timely settlement of debts owed in unpaid heating bills can save them from additional expenses like fines, court fees and enforcement costs.
